Lunar Flipbook Template
Estimated Time: 30 minutes
The solar system consists of the Sun and a collection of objects, including planets, their Moons, and asteroids that are held in orbit around the Sun by its gravitational pull on them. This model of the solar system can explain tides, eclipses of the Sun and the Moon, and the motion of the planets in the sky relative to the stars. The Moon revolves around the Earth, as the Earth rotates on its axis in its position within the solar system. These motions result in the phases of the Moon that we see from Earth’s surface. In this investigation students will explore the phases of the Moon and the relative position of the Earth and Sun by completing the lunar flipbook. Use this template to guide you in your flipbook creation.
