Rockin' and Rollin'!
Natural hazards are natural events on Earth that may result in changes to the Earth’s surface; this may include the destruction of buildings, roads, existing habitats, and even human lives. Unfortunately, natural hazards are events that are unavoidable; however, because of advances in technology and great deals of research, scientists have learned to predict when natural disasters may happen and even where they are most likely to happen. In this lesson, students will engage in analyzing earthquake data to predict where future earthquakes may occur. In addition, students will also use their new found information to better prepare individuals for earthquakes in the hopes of avoiding further damage.
