Scientists have spent many years trying to develop a deep knowledge of elements and their physical and chemical properties. In this lesson, students will have the opportunity to mimic the process scientists use to identify various mysterious substances. Through analyzing the physical properties of an unknown substance such as the color and shape of particles, and chemical properties such as the substance's ability to react to acid, students will be able to use their findings to correctly identify three mysterious substances.
