Changing Shape

Earth’s moon revolves around our planet at a consistent rate. While the moon journeys in orbit around the Earth, it is also rotating on its axis. The revolution and rotation of the moon are why we see the various phases of the moon throughout the month. In this activity, students will observe the apparent shape of the moon by modeling it’s phases.
