On the Prowl

All living things need energy to survive in their habitats. Plants get energy by making their own food using sunlight and other resources, while animals get energy by eating other plants and/or animals. In science, we can use food chains to show the path of energy from one organism to the next in a habitat. In habitats, there are many paths that energy can flow from, through overlapping food chains. In this lesson, students will learn how to organize overlapping food chains in a habitat by creating a food web.
