When we think of gravity, most of the time we think of astronauts floating around in space. However, we also need to consider how gravity affects us here on Earth! Not only is gravity the force that keeps the planets in our solar system in their orbits around the Sun, but gravity also is the attractive force that pulls us towards Earth’s center. Although gravity itself cannot be seen, we can observe the effects of gravity all around us! In this investigation, students will explore the effects of gravity in order to explain how objects can affect other objects, even while not in direct contact.
