A Disappearing Act

Matter describes the material or “stuff” that makes up everything around us! All states of matter, including solids, liquids and gases, are made up of particles that are too small to see. Even if the properties of matter change and seem to disappear, the amount of matter remains the same; matter cannot simply disappear! In this lesson, students will analyze and interpret data to explain that matter stays the same and doesn’t disappear, even when undergoing a change.
