Lesson Plan: Creating a Canyon
Estimated time: 60 minutes
Earth has changed greatly over time. Understanding how landforms develop, are weathered (broken down into smaller pieces), and eroded away (get transported elsewhere) can help students infer the history of the current landscape. All of this evidence can be used to develop a model for how Earth has changed over time. In this activity, students will be introduced to the concept of weathering and erosion as an agent of change to landforms.
