Lesson Plan: Clear As a Bell!
Estimated Time: 45 minutes
Our sense of hearing allows us to listen to and experience the world all around us! These sounds are created from the vibrations of objects. Vibrations travel through environments such as air, water or solid objects in the form of waves. Even away from the source, soundwaves can still be heard. As the vibrations from soundwaves enter our ears, we are able to hear the noise produced by the waves. But how does changing the environment impact sound? In this lesson, students will carry out an investigation in order to explore how sounds are impacted as they travel through different environments: air, a plastic container and water.
