A Beautiful Snack!
All organisms need energy in order to survive. In order to get this energy, all living things need to go through a process called cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is the process in which organisms process oxygen which is combined with glucose (or digested food) within a cell, which produces energy. For animals, we know that they eat food and drink water in order to gain energy. But, what kind of food do plants eat to get their energy? Through the process of photosynthesis, plants are able to convert water, carbon dioxide and energy from sunlight into food energy. In this lesson, students will develop an understanding of photosynthesis and create an explanation explaining how plants are able to convert energy from light into food energy to help them survive
