What's the Matter?

Matter can exist in three main types: solid, liquid, and gas. Each type of matter has its own distinct observable and measurable characteristics. Matter can change types or phases through the processes of heating and cooling. In this lesson, students will conduct an investigation to explain how heating and cooling leads to phase changes in matter.
